Bathing lakes in the region

Crystal-clear natural lakes

Tyrol is renowned for the countless walking routes and mountain bike routes, the crystal-clear mountain lakes promise refreshing relaxation between activities: cool your tired legs after a day in the mountains or spend a leisurely day on the water. Pedal boating and trendy sports such as stand-up paddle, but also child friendly activities make the region’s bathing lakes particularly attractive for families.

Wildsee

The Seefelder Wildsee is believed be the origin for the name given to the settlement “Sevelt” – feld am See or field by the lake, which was first mentioned in a document in 1022. Today it still contributes to the beauty of the Seefeld plateau and is a popular swimming lake with two lido facilities, (Strandperle + Waldschwimmbad Sonja). But the Wildsee is also a popular destination for a walk. Level paths invite you to take a leisurely walk – approx. 1 hour. Enjoy nature and discover numerous forest inhabitants!

Lottensee

The Lottensee is located approx. 45 min walk from the Hotel (also possible to reach by car). Together with the Wilddmossee, which is a bit further on, these lakes are a natural phenomenon. It results from an interaction of the water level in the underground karst systems due to spring precipitation and snow-melt. Often the lakes disappear in spring, but in some years the water level continues to rise even after the melt. Therefore it cannot be guaranteed that the lakes will be there during your visit.

Möserer See

Only 15 minutes’ walk from the hotel, slightly above Mösern lies the Möserer Lake. In an idyllic forest, nestled in a rocky bowl padded with moraine debris. At an altitude of 1292 m and up to 11 m deep it is situated in a protected area, the blooning Alpine roses on the water’s edge offer a breeding ground for a variety of water birds. Even so bathing is allowed, and it is among the warmest lakes in Tyrol. A walk around the lake takes approx. 45 minutes, the Mösere See Stuben is the ideal place to take a break.
